About The Position

Job Title : CT Tech

Profession : Technologist

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in a hospital setting

License : Registered with ARRT in Radiography and CT

Certifications : BLS from AHA

Must-Have :

Must be registered in CT and X-ray.

Must have experience in both CT and X-ray procedures.

Must be able to assist with ER, inpatient, and outpatient cases.

Description :

Provide diagnostic CT scans for interpretation by radiologists.

Cover CT duties within the emergency department and inpatient department as needed during shifts.

Apply principles of radiation safety.

Organize the daily schedule and serve as a dedicated resource to the CT team.

Locates and properly operates essential patient care equipment.

Consistently observes patients before, during, and after procedures.

Uses appropriate immobilization and patient transfer devices.

Safely operates all equipment and immediately reports malfunctions.

Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures and radiation safety.

Assures that all data entered and retrieved from computer systems is accurate.

Verifies accuracy prior to procedures.

Appropriately schedules patient and departmental resources for services.

Collaborates with staff members and physicians to ensure optimal patient care.

Keeps documentation current and available.

Conducts quality improvement program activities.

Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

Evaluates diagnostic procedures for appropriateness and takes corrective measures if needed.

Performs venipuncture for the instillation of CT contrast.

Demonstrates technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images.

Selects appropriate techniques for each procedure and positions patients accordingly.

Prepares and stocks rooms for various exams, checking equipment between patients.

Cleans rooms and equipment between patients, including waiting areas.

Maintains flexibility by working in different areas as needed.

Displays a positive attitude and a commitment to excellent patient care.
