Job Description
We are currently hiring a Junior Buyer to join a Sourcing team at a large Metal Manufacturing company in West Bend. Our customer supports customers in the automotive, industrial, and agricultural industries, working with some of the largest brand names in the space. We are seeking a Buyer to source and purchase raw materials per client requests.
Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing materials, components, or services necessary for operations. This role requires strong supplier relationship management, cost analysis, and negotiation skills to ensure timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase raw materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company requirements.
- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors for price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to drive cost savings and value.
- Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, engineering, logistics) to understand material needs and ensure supply continuity.
- Resolve issues with vendors related to delivery, quality, or invoicing discrepancies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Qualifications
1 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing industry preferred).Strong negotiation and communication skills.Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions under pressure.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with international sourcing and vendor management.Knowledge of lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems.Certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
