Summary

Estes Energetics is seeking an experienced Controller for a hybrid role supporting both operational and strategic initiatives. This position will oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. As the company's first financial leader, the Controller will help establish financial processes and controls and serve as a key partner in shaping the company's strategic growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive, adaptable leader capable of working independently and collaboratively at the executive level.

Essential Functions

• Model the company values.
• Perform financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Manage financial, management, and tax accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger transactions and schedules.
• Coordinate preparation of annual and other federal, state, and local tax returns by external tax accountants.
• Coordinate independent financial audits and valuations, including single audits ("yellow book audit") and audits by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
• Prepare cost proposals and manage Government and commercial contracts.
• Manage and improve business systems and processes (ERP, accounting, inventory, etc.).
• Oversee purchasing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position on a 9 / 80 schedule. The employee is expected to work at least 40 hours per week and some overtime may be required.

110,000 - 140,000 USD per year (Penrose, CO)
