About The Position

Job Title : Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience required

License : Must have an active Illinois license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring required

Must-Have :

• Teaching Hospital Experience preferred
• EFM interpretation skills / experience required

Description :

Position for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.

The shift consists of three 12-hour day shifts.

Can accommodate four 12-hour shifts if preferred.

The unit has 20 rooms.

Will work every third weekend.

First-timers accepted.

Will float within scope to meet facility needs if required.

Open to accommodating block schedule; discuss with the manager.

Guaranteed hours may be affected by client call-offs.

If a candidate is on-call, that will count as a called-off shift.

Skills in administration of blood products and antihypertensives are required.

Candidates should be able to assist with sterile speculum exams and vaginal deliveries.

Breastfeeding support and car seat education experience are preferred.

Candidates must be proficient in cesarean sections and circulatory functions during C-sections.

Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns are essential.

Candidates should have experience with both mother and baby care.

Thermoregulation and insulin drips management experience required.

Teaching circumcision care to parents is also expected.

All candidates must be willing to work in an acute care setting with a total of 562 staffed beds.

Charting will be done using Cerner.

Daily census includes both infants and adults, totaling approximately 15.

Candidates may need to participate in various procedures and care routines.
