Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE required. Minimum 5 years of land development experience, including site layouts, planning, platting, and site grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF editing tools, and Civil 3D design. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team environment. Knowledge of local zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, and permitting processes. Detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to professional growth. Model professionalism by demonstrating sound judgment, trust, and integrity. Uphold company values, policies, and practices. Lead by example while upholding company values, policies, and professionalism. Demonstrate urgency, initiative, and reliability in meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, vendors, staff, and agencies. Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Manage time, materials, and resources efficiently with strong organizational and multitasking skills. Prepare accurate records, reports, and project documentation with attention to detail. Apply engineering principles to research, data analysis, design, and modeling (hydrologic / hydraulic, stormwater, site layouts). Coordinate with team members, government entities, and consultants; attend client and industry meetings. Support community involvement and continuous learning. Perform other duties as assigned. Monitoring project progress, resolving discrepancies, and recommending solutions. Inspecting project sites for conformance with plans and safety standards. Preparing / revising project schedules and coordinating tasks with Project Managers. Conducting studies, reviewing engineering documents, and checking plans, details, and specifications. Site research, due diligence reports, and field visits. Leading small teams under Project Manager supervision. Planning, design, permitting, and construction administration for civil / land development projects (residential, commercial, industrial). Applying zoning regulations and design criteria to solve project challenges. Designing within AutoCAD Civil 3D, preparing technical calculations, drawings, and cost estimates. Serving as client / agency / contractor point-of-contact. Training and mentoring junior staff. Reviewing and preparing permit applications. Performing construction observation and field engineering services. Responsibilities may vary based on experience and position.
