Functional Cognitive Rehab is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team!
Functional Cognitive Rehab is a telehealth-based private practice providing cognitive rehabilitation services to individuals primarily recovering from traumatic brain injuries and / or concussions. We help our patients regain their cognitive-linguistic abilities so they can return to school, work, and community at their highest level of cognitive functioning and independence.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with experience providing evidence-based mental health services to individuals recovering from mild traumatic brain injury / concussion to complement our cognitive rehabilitation services. This role focuses on treating secondary conditions such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with a particular emphasis on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and mental health assessments for patients with mTBI.
 - Provide individualized treatment planning tailored to cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
 - Deliver evidence-based interventions, including CBT and EMDR, to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
 - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure integrated care.
 - Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes in compliance with clinical and ethical standards.
 - Offer patient and family education regarding recovery, coping strategies, and community resources.
 - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current research and best practices in brain injury rehabilitation and trauma-focused therapy.
 
Qualifications :
Required Licensure : Active LCSW or LMFT license in California.Experience : Minimum 1–2 years of post-licensure clinical experience; direct experience with brain injury populations strongly preferred.Specialized training and certification in CBT and EMDR.Knowledge of the psychological, emotional, and cognitive sequelae of mild traumatic brain injury.Strong skills in patient-centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork, and evidence-based practice.Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical reasoning skills.Preferred Skills :
Experience working in medical, neurological, or rehabilitation settings.Familiarity with co-occurring issues such as sleep disturbance, pain management, and adjustment disorders.Ability to deliver therapy via telehealth in compliance with HIPAA standards.Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Job Type : Per Diem / PRN / Part-time
