This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12.0 rotating shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) including Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, and Callback as per unit needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 1 RN Psych to join our team in Unit 3900. The candidate will perform intake assessments, create nursing care plans, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional health care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
  • Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
  • Make nursing diagnoses based on the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
  • Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer and document reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
  • Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
  • Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
  • Test vital signs and ensure pain treatments are administered appropriately.
  • Document all patient information in medical charts and follow physician's written orders.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing and completing progress notes in the computer system.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • RN License (New York License ONLY)
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
  • CPI Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
