Job Summary
The Industrial Canvas Sewer is responsible for sewing and assembling canvas and other heavy-duty fabric components used in marine applications, including pontoon covers, enclosures, and biminis. This role requires expertise in operating industrial sewing machines, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Proficiency in canvas / sewing computer programs to manage patterns, measurements, and fabric cutting is essential. The ideal candidate will bring experience in industrial sewing, an understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets company specifications.

Essential Job Functions
Operate industrial sewing machines and related equipment to stitch, hem, and reinforce fabric components for pontoons and other marine productsFollow detailed sewing patterns and specifications to ensure components meet required dimensions and structural standardsInspect and prepare materials for sewing, including measuring, cutting, and marking fabric as neededUse computer-aided design (CAD) or sewing software programs to manage patterns, adjust dimensions, and guide fabric cutting assemblyInput specifications into sewing software to ensure accurate, consistent production of canvas componentsUpdate digital files and patterns based on new specifications or improvements to streamline the manufacturing processConduct quality checks throughout the sewing process to identify any errors or inconsistencies, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards for the durability, fit and appearanceCollaborate with the quality team to address any defects and make adjustments as requiredComplete documentation for quality checks and finished products to ensure traceability and accountabilityMaintain a clean and organized work area, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the supervisorCrosstrain with other team members to build versatile skills in different areas of productionSafely operate basic equipment, tools, and machinery used in the assembly process, follow all safety protocols and guidelines including the use of PPE at all times where requiredRecord assembly data within computer ERP system to maintain accurate production recordsIdentify inefficiencies / waste within assigned manufacturing processWork effectively with team members and other departments, maintaining a positive, cooperative work environmentRequirements :

High School degree or equivalent; technical certification of vocational training in sewing of textiles is a plusMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in industrial or heavy-duty sewing, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExperience with sewing or CAD software programs for pattern design and cutting is a plusPhysical Requirements
