Scope and Purpose :

We are seeking a Claims Support Specialist for our Medicare Supplement department. The Claims Support Specialist will provide claims administrative support through various activities including researching incoming claims and assisting with the processing of claims correspondence.

The ideal candidate must have a strong technical aptitude with a desire to learn and contribute to a results-oriented environment while being motivated to efficiently complete the assigned tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Research incoming correspondence and distribute them to the appropriate departments.
  • Contact providers for pending information.
  • Communicate with others in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Perform and complete other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Computer literate; demonstrates proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to read and understand policy language.
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines.

Travel Requirements :

This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
