What you'll be doing as a Tool Application Engineer

Contributing to the successful completion of major projects that support strategic priorities or difficult technical objectives, the Tool Application Engineering Specialist is responsible for selecting cutting tools, at the most economical cost, which will produce a part to Engineering and Manufacturing requirements. The Specialist has the responsibility of approving special cutting tool designs and introducing new technical advancements in machine tool processes as well as maintaining an overview of cutting tool performance and usage.

Other functions include submitting reports on budgets, cost savings, labor, tool shortages and other information required by management.

Qualifications

What you need to be successful

2 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry working in a Tool Application Engineering role or process improvement role.

2 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry working with CNC machining or composite manufacturing.

2 years experience with customer service

Bachelors Degree is required. Bachelor's of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology is preferred. Skills You Bring To this Role

Direct customer facing experience either supporting production, industrialization of product or frontline leadership.Able to effectively identify, report and resolve potential safety and quality hazards / risks.Able to perform producibility analysis and manufacturing trade studies to determine cost effective solutions to complex manufacturing technical objectives.Works through a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects.Work and deliverables reviewed and checked through team leadership, Project / Program management, and Functional management to adequately meet objectivesMentors and shares manufacturing technology with teammates and colleagues.Knowledge and / or expertise in one or more of the following :

Able to apply cutting tool design and analysis knowledge to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook
