General Statement of Duties :
The Manager of Data Analytics and Database provides leadership in managing Webster University's advancement data systems, analytics, and reporting to support effective community resource development. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and strategic use of donor and prospect data to guide decision-making, donor engagement, and case development. The Manager partners closely with the Associate Vice President, Senior Director, and Director of Community Resource Development to deliver insights that strengthen fundraising outcomes and donor stewardship. The Manager also collaborates with University Agents - such as deans, program directors, faculty, and staff - by equipping them and donor-facing colleagues with accurate data and analysis that highlight the impact of their programs and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Management & Integrity
- Maintain the University's advancement database, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for data entry, management, and reporting.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of donor and prospect data.
Analytics and Reporting
Design and produce reports and dashboards to support donor analysis, pipeline development, and fundraising strategy.Provide data insights to inform solicitation strategies, stewardship efforts, and campaign planning.Analyze donor giving trends, capacity, and affinity to help identify potential prospects.Collaboration with Community Resource Development LeadershipPartner with the Associate VP, Senior Director, and Director to align analytics and reporting with institutional advancement goals.Support fundraising staff with actionable data for cultivation and solicitation strategies.Translate complex data into accessible insights for leadership, trustees, and University Agents.Support for University Agents (deans, directors, faculty, staff)Collaborate with University Agents to provide data and analytics that inform compelling cases for donor support.Develop tools and resources that help Agents articulate program impact and funding needs with accuracy and credibility.Monday-Friday, 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm; some evening and / or weekend work required for special events. This position is approved for a 1-day hybrid work arrangement as offered in Webster University's Flexible Work Arrangements policy. Use by individual employees is at the discretion of the supervisor and unit leadership based on department and University need.
Requisite Experience
Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, business, or related field required5+ years of experience in advancement services, data management, or analytics in higher education or nonprofit sector.Expertise with fundraising CRM systems and data visualization tools.Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.Excellent communication skills to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical data management.Functional / Technical Skills
