Supervisor Of Patient Financial Services Hospital Billing

Under the oversight of the Department Manager, the Supervisor of Patient Financial Services Hospital Billing is responsible for providing daily monitoring and support to a diverse team of representatives and specialists for a large multi-facility healthcare system with future expansion anticipated. Responsible areas within the PFS Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle may include Billing, AR Management, Customer Service, Cash Posting, Denial Management, and overall Revenue Cycle operations. With Manager oversight, the Supervisor will evaluate the assigned work unit's activities and functions for accuracy and efficiency. Provides continuous communication of organizational values and displays positive leadership skills to their team and others within the organization. The Supervisor will support the Manager with personnel-related duties, identify and assist with operational training and education needs to maintain system-wide quality and production standards and ensure Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle KPIs are being achieved for overall Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle operational success. The Supervisor will assist the Manager by leading team meetings and one-on-one sessions with work unit staff members. The Supervisor will partake in scheduled and ad hoc Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle workgroup meetings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to :
Minimum Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Licensure, Certification & Registration : None Required
Experience : 3+ years in a healthcare environment preferably in hospital billing. One year supervising staff preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities : The knowledge and abilities required to perform this function would typically be acquired through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelor's degree; and three (3) years of experience in professional / hospital billing or related revenue cycle field. Comprehensive knowledge of the components associated with billing for a large multi-specialty academic group practice. Excellent verbal and communication skills along with the ability to maintain productive and professional relationships. Excellent problem identification and solving skills.
