Role Description

We’re hiring a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us on-site in Berkeley, CA. You will own critical subsystems, set technical direction, and mentor junior mechanical engineers, ensuring the team is learning and operating at a high standard. You’ll balance hands-on design and prototyping with leadership responsibilities, guiding projects from concept to field deployment.

Key Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in industry
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior engineers, raising the bar on execution speed
• Exceptional hands-on fabrication skills with a history of building things outside of class or work
• Outstanding machine design and mechanical intuition
• Comfortable with the pace, rigor, and responsibility of startup life – including 6-day workweeks and long hours
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience in marine, aerospace, robotics, construction, or other high-performance environments
• Must be a U.S. permanent resident
