Job description

ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Opportunity : RN - ICU

Job Details :

  • Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (overtime billed after 48 hours on 4x12 schedule)
  • Night shifts with weekday schedule and every other weekend required
  • Float position with required floating to Stepdown Unit and may float to ED / MedSurg to care for ICU patients being held
  • Holiday coverage required within contract period
  • Patient ratios of 1 : 2-3
  • Strong neurological experience required including post-neurosurgical care, EVD management, and stroke care
  • Must be proficient with ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia / emergency management
  • Required certifications : BLS and ACLS via American Heart Association, NIHSS
  • 3 years critical care experience preferred (will consider strong candidates with less experience)
  • Must be EPIC proficient with no exceptions
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Must complete EKG testing with 80% or higher passing score (one attempt only)
  • 3 hours of billable modules required and completed pre-start
  • Care for patient populations including neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, heart failure and post-cardiac cath
  • Virginia or compact license required in hand at time of submittal
  • No license or background hits will be accepted
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility

    This medical center operates a comprehensive intensive care unit specializing in neurological and critical care services. The facility provides advanced critical care capabilities including post-neurosurgical management, stroke care, and complex medical interventions. The ICU features modern equipment and technology to support critically ill patients with various conditions including trauma, cardiac issues, and multi-organ dysfunction. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and requires experienced nurses with strong neurological backgrounds.
