Job description

A well-known healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join their team.

About the Opportunity

  • Shift : Days, Afternoons, or Nights
  • Schedule : 5 shifts per week
  • Hours : 8am to 4 : 30pm or 3 : 30pm to 12am or 12am to 8 : 30am
  • Setting : Acute Care

Responsibilities :

  • Fills prescriptions and patient orders, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy, and follows-up on problems
  • Utilizes clinical data in evaluating physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy
  • Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling
  • Documents interventions, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and medication errors
  • Directs and utilizes personnel including technicians, aides and clerical staff
  • Assists in the monthly inspection of the patient care units and the Pharmacy
  • Maintains adequate medication supply in individual work area
  • Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing systems, as needed
  • Advises prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs
  • Utilizes Outpatient and Inpatient computerized systems to enter and access patient care information
  • Coordinates and analyzes statistics and / or clinical data
  • Participates in quality management and utilization review programs
  • Performs other duties, as needed

    • Qualification :

  • 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital and / or Retail setting
  • Associate's and / or Bachelor's Degree
  • An active NYS Pharmacist license
  • Experience with a Pharmacy Dispensing system
  • Sterile Processing experience
  • IV room experience

    • Desired Skills :

  • Knowledge of an EMR (Electronic Medical Records system)
