Description
POSITION OVERVIEW :
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Counselor to join our Recovery and Wellness Department in the Oakland Area of Alameda County. The Counselor is responsible for conducting intakes / assessments and providing individual, group, and family counseling, psychoeducation, case management, and other support services for adolescents with a substance use disorder and their families. This position reports to the Program Supervisor and upholds the agency's mission, vision, and values, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :
- Conduct initial intake and assessments
- Formulate treatment plans for clients
- Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions
- Provide assessments and appropriate referrals for educational, training, and supportive services
- Maintain all client files
- Advocate for clients with probation officers, law enforcement, etc.
- Maintain and submit program documentation and reports accurately and timely
- Develop relationships with referral sources and implement outreach strategies
- Develop community resources for clients and families
- Attend collaborative meetings with other agencies
- Plan and implement educational, social, and recreational activities
- Complete compliance and performance reports as assigned
- Participate in agency activities, meetings, and training
- Participate in Recovery Incentives programs as directed

Required :
