Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Opportunity

Salary : $937 / Week The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) performs direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Geriatric Nursing Assistant performs a variety of individualized patient care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding and transporting as well as related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the geriatric patient population.

Position Details :

Position : Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)

Unit : Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing (Float)

Location : Taneytown, MD

Contract Length : 13 weeks (opportunity for extension)

Pay : $25 / hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintains patient confidentiality of all residents
• Assists residents with activities of daily living and feeding
• Performs transfers and lifts per facility protocol
• Completes timely and thorough documentation in the facility EMR charting system
• Provides support and companionship to patients
• Assists residents with use of assistive devices
• Safeguards the client / patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
• Notifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings or conditions
• Cleans and organizes patient rooms
• Assists with putting away residents laundry and belongings
• Assists nurse with admission and discharge / s to unit
• Prepares patients for appointments or transfers
