Insight Global is seeking a Blood Bank Lead on the day shift. They will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a high-volume blood bank. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent performing hands-on bench work, while also supervising a team of 7–8 staff during weekdays and 3 on weekends. You will be responsible for managing staff schedules, reviewing, and approving payroll, and ensuring timely and accurate patient antibody workups. A key part of your role includes maintaining equipment maintenance schedules and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards such as AABB, FDA, CAP, and NJDOH. You will assign daily tasks, manage workflow, and collaborate with other departments, including supporting bone marrow transplant services in partnership with MD Anderson. Additionally, you’ll contribute to small-scale projects like equipment validations (e.g., new refrigerators or kiosks). The position requires ASCP certification (preferred MT, MLT considered), proven leadership in a blood bank setting, and the ability to work one summer and one winter holiday annually. You’ll work with tools such as the Quidel Ortho Swift analyzer (gel method), manual gel as a backup, Sunquest LIS, and EPIC for order and patient history management.
