Position Summary :

The Youth Golf Coach is a part-time, non-exempt position responsible for supporting golf practices and programs throughout the winter, spring, summer, and fall sessions.  The Youth Golf Coach works with children and youth groups and is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, responsibility, and other positive character traits.   Coaches are instrumental staff responsible to uphold the standards of the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation, while making positive impressions and making a great experience for all.

This position requires a flexible schedule, with commitment to work multiple shifts within each session period and must be able to work evenings and weekends.  Positions are assigned by geographic areas and may require being scheduled and working at various sites within the assigned area.  We are actively looking to hire within the Orange County, San Fernando Valley, Southeast Los Angeles, Southwest Los Angeles, and Riverside communities.  The rate of pay for this position is $18.00 / hour - $23.00 / hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include :

• Minimum requirement of 18 years of age.
• Be a positive ambassador for the sport of golf and the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation.
• Meet with Program Manager and other members of the management team as necessary for training, lesson plan development, etc,.
• Serve as a positive role model and influence to assigned youth players.
• Set a standard for development by using positive reinforcement when coaching in an organized and safe manner.
• Manage inventory of equipment for assigned sessions, to include practice setup and breakdown.
• Be present and interact with all participants, making it a fun and engaging experience.
• Follow a pre-set practice schedule of drills and exercises to teach fundamental skills.
• Must be able to successfully complete training(s) and certification designations as necessary and required within a designated time frame.
• Other duties and tasks as necessary and relevant.
