Responsibilities

• Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
• Manage the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions using the 8D Problem Solving Process.
• Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.
• Assure product and process quality by designing complex testing methods; test finished product and process capabilities; establish standards; confirm manufacturing processes.
• Participate in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.
• Write spec books and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Design, document and implement medium to large-scale manufacturing processes and determine feasibility of product changes.
• Utilize system analysis of production methods / procedures and process automations for continued growth improvements.
• Perform a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Evaluate current production activities and drive improvements.
• Periodically ensure that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
• Contribute to product and process quality design testing methods.
• Develop planning standards, methods, and procedures.
• Plan workplaces considering ergonomics.
• Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
• Provide guidance to team members to accomplish production goals; mentor and give guidance to less senior manufacturing engineers for skill / knowledge base development. Motivate, develop, direct and influence team members at all levels and cultural backgrounds.
• May act as deputy for Production Manager.
• Propose and manage medium-scale projects from beginning to end; may scope and manage large capital investment projects (>

$5 M).
