We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Homewood, Illinois. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of supplier invoices and ensure efficient payment processes. Responsibilities :

• Accurately enter supplier invoices into the company's accounting system while maintaining a high level of efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve purchase order variances, including item, price, and quantity discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Purchasing and Operations teams to streamline processes.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding invoices, statements, and payment inquiries.
• Manage vendor accounts and ensure timely processing of invoices to meet payment deadlines.
• Assist with the automated document management system and support special projects when needed.
• Organize and prioritize workload to handle high volumes of invoices, approximately 300-400 daily.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Investigate discrepancies in workflow and implement solutions to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain proper documentation and organize records for audits and reporting purposes.

The salary range for this position is $23 to $24 / hr. Benefits available to contract / temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract / temporary professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan.

Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is preferred but not required.

Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks.

Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong typing skills with speed and precision.

Experience with Epicor or similar accounting software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
