Job Details :

• Work in Neuro Stepdown and Telemetry units with 1 : 4 patient ratios
• Weekend coverage required with 1 weekend shift per month
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including stroke, neuro, and spine conditions
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must pass advanced dysrhythmia test for competency assessment
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Kentucky license or compact license required at submission
• EPIC experience required
• Floating to different units may be required
• Must perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Provide telemetry monitoring on the unit and utilize rapid response teams
• Manage IV therapy including accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs
• Administer medications including heparin protocols, PCA, and titrating cardiac drips
• Care for neurological conditions including CVA, pre / post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury
• Provide respiratory care using external CPAP / BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Perform wound care including wound vac management and maintain isolation precautions
• Support orthopedic patients including ortho trauma and total joint replacements
