Our client offers a wide range of contracting services to clients in the Construction, Industrial, Utility, Transportation, and Government sectors. A fantastic opportunity exists for a Construction Project Engineer.
This will be a direct hire position offering a competitive salary, bonus scheme, per diem where applicable. Position will be fully remote with frequent travel to project sites predominantly in the Gulf, Central and West locations.
Base pay range
$110,000.00 / yr - $125,000.00 / yr
Additional compensation types
Annual Bonus and Sign-on bonus
Responsibilities
The Project Engineer performs routine field and office assignments with supervision and oversight from the Project Manager or their designee. Provide support to the Project Manager or Project Director in project administration, quality, safety, invoicing / financial tracking, contract management and project data management. The Project Engineer is expected to use their experience and judgment to make decisions within their limits of authority.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate all Project Engineering aspects of assigned projects.
- Manage construction quality control program. Ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Assist with coordinating and managing subcontractors.
- Field surveying.
- Prepare project submittals as required. Oversee process and submittal tracking system.
- Oversee and manage project design elements as required. Prepare / oversee all built project deliverables as required.
- Assist project team with subcontractor and supplier procurement and management.
- Assist project team in completing Infrastructure, remediation and civil construction activities in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
- Assist in development of cost estimates. Utilize standard software to assist in the development and implementation of systems to record and track project cost and revenue.
- Enforcement of all company policies and procedures, including health & safety.
- Works well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
- Safety support and planning work with Health and Safety Personnel.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing. Excellent customer relations skills.Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems, keeping all appropriate parties aware of issues or risks. Have a strong work ethic.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills including the use of the Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project Scheduling and / or Primavera P6.Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Blue beamWorking knowledge of surveying practices and equipment required.Understand basic behavior-based safety programs and enforce company's safety policies.40-hour OSHA Hazwoper, MSHA and Railroad training.Must meet travel expectations.Must perform shift work.Must meet medical requirements of the job site.Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems plus communicate / interface with all levels of personnel.Education and Experience
Baccalaureate Degree in Civil or another engineering major. Mid-level position requiring 3-5 years previous experience. Working knowledge of surveying; water / soil sampling and testing; quality control; construction technology; and civil design required. An equivalent combination of education and / or experience may be considered. Personnel holding degrees in non-engineering disciplines will be titled Project Coordinator.Experience managing work under railroad, federal, or state oversight (e.g., UPRR, EPA, DOT).Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.Seniority level
