The Director of Rehabilitation Services will serve as the senior clinical and programmatic leader for the therapy service lines within the organization. Reporting to executive leadership, this role is responsible for shaping and executing the strategy for rehabilitation services—spanning orthopedics, sports medicine, post-operative recovery, and performance enhancement—across multiple clinics. This leader will ensure that clinical programs align with patient outcomes, growth objectives, and operational efficiency while upholding Champion’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Clinical Leadership
Develop, implement and continuously refine rehabilitation service programs—including orthopedic, sports performance, wellness, and post-operative tracks—to meet patient recovery outcomes and market demand.
Lead clinical staff development by designing and delivering training, mentorship, and continuing education to elevate therapeutic practices, ensure adherence to evidence-based care, and foster a high-performing clinical culture.
Collaborate with clinic directors, therapists, and support staff to ensure quality of care, patient satisfaction, and optimal utilization of therapy resources.
Monitor performance metrics (e.g., patient outcomes, satisfaction scores, referral retention, therapist productivity), analyze variances, and implement improvement initiatives to achieve targets.
Operational & Strategic Oversight
Own the rehabilitation services budget, capital plans for equipment, staffing models, and resource allocation to support service growth and clinic profitability.
Support new service-line launch and feature integration : identify market opportunities, design program rollout plans, oversee implementation and monitor performance across clinics.
Maintain regulatory and compliance oversight related to therapy services (state licensure, documentation standards, payer requirements, safety protocols) and ensure all program locations meet or exceed standards.
Collaborate with business development, marketing, and referral-source relationships to strengthen the clinic network, enhance market positioning and optimize patient acquisition for therapy services.
Qualifications & Skills
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy (MPT) from an accredited program; current state licensure required.
Minimum of 7–10 years of outpatient physical therapy experience with at least 3 years in leadership or program management of rehabilitation services.
Proven ability to lead clinical teams, deliver growth in therapy service lines, manage budgets, and drive operational results.
Strong business acumen coupled with clinical credibility : ability to interpret data, implement change, and align clinical programs with business objectives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to motivate and mentor staff across multiple sites, collaborate with referral sources and represent Champion externally.
