Senior Engineer

Must Have Technical / Functional Skills

Strong COBOL programming skills, especially with Micro Focus COBOL. Experience with AIX (Unix) operating system and shell scripting. Knowledge of databases like DB2, SQL, and relevant data access methods. Familiarity with Micro Focus tools, JCL, and other mainframe utilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Roles & Responsibilities Application Development

Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications using Micro Focus tools (e.g., Visual COBOL, Net Express). Write, test, and debug COBOL code, ensuring it meets requirements and performs efficiently. Design and implement new features and functionalities. Work with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

AIX Environment

Proficiency in AIX (Unix) operating system, including shell scripting. Experience with AIX-based systems and infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AIX environment and COBOL applications.

Database Interaction

Experience with databases like DB2, SQL, and other relevant database technologies. Write and maintain SQL queries for data access and manipulation. Understand data structures and access methods (e.g., VSAM).

Tools and Technologies

Familiarity with Micro Focus tools for COBOL development, testing, and deployment. Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and other mainframe utilities. Experience with DevOps tools and processes.

Salary Range-$100,000-$140,500 a year
