Summary / Purpose of Job
The EVS Lead Technician oversees general environmental services duties as assigned while also providing supervision, technical and operational support to the department. The Lead is responsible for ensuring clean and sanitary areas on patient floors, public areas, and employee areas.
Primary Job Duties / Essential Functions
- Responsible for sweeping, dust moping, scrubber usage and maintenance, rooms, hallways, entryways, stairways, etc.; collecting trash and refuse from work areas and placing in designated areas.
- Clean, sanitize and polish bath, lavatory and shower areas, sink fixtures and facilities including drinking fountains. Ensure that the drainage of all commodes and sinks in the assigned areas are working properly and shall be expected to clear those that are not.
- Prepare sanitized beds for new patients, including the correct placement of bed linens. Ensure that all room furniture is placed in accordance with hospital standards
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Lead Responsibilities Include :
Conducts linen distribution and inventory; and coordinationActs as a primary contact for event set-up and tear downAssures that staff are following required break and mealtimes to assure all units have ongoing coverage, including weekends and holidays.Involved with disciplinary actions, inventory and purchasing procedures, but not solely responsible.Notifies supervisor, or designee, of any equipment, furniture or building fixtures or items in need of maintenance repair.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowlege, Skills and Responsibilities
Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment .Must possess strong personal and communication skills. Must be able to operate telephones, hand-held radios, and general cleaning equipment during the course of their shift.Must have knowledge of using computers, including Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding and working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning techniques and cleaning equipment.Must also be able to respond to assigned areas to assist with evacuation during any emergency or disaster.Experience / Education
Minimal one (1) year experience as an EVS technician or equivalent.
