Mercy Hospital’s Transitional Care Unit is a high-acuity med / surg and cardiac stepdown unit working toward becoming exclusively a cardiac stepdown unit. Patients on this unit include post cardiac cath lab procedures, such as heart caths and single vessel coronary angioplasty, and patients with chest tubes, pleurex catheters, wounds and more.

As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. A caregiver in this position works rotating day / night shifts from 7 : 00 a.m. – 7 : 30 p.m. and 7 : 00 p.m. – 7 : 30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements
