Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including power generation and conversion systems, magnetics, and sensors for extreme environments. Located in Milwaukie, OR (in the Greater Portland Area), this site is within the Fire, Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select aircraft and ground vehicle markets, spanning business jet, narrow body, wide body, and fighter jet platforms as well as military ground vehicles. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon, among others.

Position Summary

The Sales Manager manages, develops and maintains the strategic customer accounts and the deployment of strategic growth plans for our customers. Will build Parker Aerospace credibility as a supplier of solutions, products, systems and services and establishes strong relationships at the key interfaces with the customer. Responsible for significantly growing the accounts with the customer and for facilitating smooth and effective communications between Parker Aerospace and the customer. Responsible for the growth of product sales through direct sales efforts and program leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Develops the working relationship between Parker Aerospace and the customer by performing the role of primary interface between the customer and the company.
  • Facilitates all aspects of the business including sales, technical, contractual delivery, service, quality, and aftermarket support.
  • Builds and expands revenue with the customer by obtaining access to the customers technical and requirements road maps so that Parker Aerospace can be positioned to support current and emerging requirements.
  • Coordinates the development of proposals providing the strategic and tactical insight to maximize the potential for winning the work.
  • Coordinates bids and contracts with the customer and ensure bids are coordinated across Parker Aerospace when required and ensure all appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Represents internally the customers' needs and expectations to the business unit, developing internal relationships, influencing the business unit leadership in meeting the demands of the customer, working with technical leaders to define new products and programs and providing awareness of program and product opportunities.
  • Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs.
  • Keeps informed on competitive products, pricing and new product development.
  • Identifies target markets / applications for division products.
  • Is knowledgeable about industry economic and technological trends in target markets.
  • Keeps management informed of competitive and market issues via monthly reports and other specially requested reports.
  • Must continuously maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (required) with technical major preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively increasing business development experience that has provided visibility to a broad spectrum of emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand customer's business, their key players and to create opportunities for the company.
  • Strong networking and facilitator skills to generate appropriate levels of contact with Customer's management and within Parker Aerospace.
  • Ability to seek out and pursue business development opportunities.
  • Possess a strong technical background to understand the technical requirement and capabilities, to evaluate the technical development and the immediate or future strategic implications.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking capabilities along with ability to interface with cross-functional disciplines in a multi-divisional and matrix environment.
  • Experienced at delivering customer service in the sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience.
  • Capable of directing the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems, while applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.
  • Hands-on oriented with "can do" approach to drive tasks to completion.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
