Travel RN Job Details Location : Wilmington, NC (28401) – North Carolina healthcare jobs Job Title : Med / Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract Unit : Medicine IV - RN (Med / Surg Tele) Contract Type : Travel nursing assignment Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : March 2, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks) Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15), 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : Must be able to work holidays; required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Float Requirement : Float to similar units at least once per week Orientation : 24 hours Scrubs : Navy Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700-$1750 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at time of start) BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification Must pass EKG test for Med / Surg Tele specialty Experience with Epic electronic charting system preferred Clinical skills required : Heparin and Insulin protocols, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, wound care / wound vac, PCA, peripheral line care / management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, titration of insulin drips, IV Heparin drips Ability to float to similar medical / surgical units as needed Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and responding to catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations as part of the Storm / Hurricane Team Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical / surgical patients Administer medications and manage Heparin and Insulin drips according to clinical protocols Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond appropriately to dysrhythmias Perform wound care and manage wound vacs for post-surgical and medical patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social services Document patient care using Epic EMR and communicate effectively using SBAR Float to similar Med / Surg Tele units based on hospital staffing needs Participate in unit orientation and complete all required training modules prior to start Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including vaccine requirements and fatigue policy Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Wilmington, North Carolina!
