CG Plastics is a leading tryout and production manufacturing facility for plastic injection molding, located in Comstock Park, MI (just north of Grand Rapids). We have a 3rd Shift (Sun-Wed. 9pm-7am) opening for an experienced Injection Molding Setup Technician or Die Setter.
This position will support the mold setup of injection mold tooling. This role is also responsible for material changes, mold transportation, installation, setup / startup within established validated parameters and cleanup of area and equipment. Additionally, this role will set molds, set-up cell, and deliver material to appropriate molding operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following :
- Responsible for the safe and efficient material changeovers and injection mold set up and removals as assigned.
- Adjust equipment in accordance with, and within established process parameters, to ensure attainment of production rates and quality specifications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on machinery and / or feeding systems.
- Operate forklift and overhead crane for material and tool movement.
- Compile and maintain paperwork or documentation as required for assigned shift and machines.
- Maintain a clean and safe organized work area at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE include, but not limited to :
Broad knowledge of injection molding machines.Must be reliable, demonstrated willingness to stay to get the job done.Requires a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.High School diploma or GED required.Vocational, technical or trade school experience preferred.One to two years Die Setter experience in a similar molding operation, preferably with experience on 85 to 2300 ton equipment.Good hand eye coordination and must be mechanically inclinedSolid math skills and measurement knowledge.Good verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read and interpret typical component specifications and printsMust be familiar with the differences between basic resin types, operations, and troubleshooting of molding and auxiliary equipment.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
