Summary :
The Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to the company's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and policies.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience working within chemical, mechanical, and research and development (R&D) laboratories, encompassing cleanrooms, wet chemistry laboratories and additive processing applications.
A strong understanding of chemical compatibility, cleanroom and research equipment, as well as monitoring systems is required to support daily operations and contribute effectively during emergency situations or in response to alarms and incidents.
Responsibilities :
- Support implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct PPE hazard assessments, risk assessments and site inspections to identify opportunities for improvement with existing programs and policies.
- Support EHS training to personnel on topics including but not limited to respriatory protection, spill and incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional operations teams to integrate EHS programs and business unit plans into business operations and processes.
- Lead team activities including incident response planning and training exercises
- Conduct periodic audits of program status and prepare reports for management review.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in EHS, preferably in a chemical manufacturing, laboratory settings, high-tech R&D, or heavy manufacturing.
- Knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, WAC, NFPA, IFC, IBC).
- Experience implementing and maintaining EHS programs, policies and performance metrics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google apps, and familiarity with EHS management software.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is preferred but not required.
Pay range is $38 - $43 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical / dental / vision / life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more.
