Project Engineer I (Hybrid)

As a Project Engineer I, you'll support SAOC training systems to implement an integrated plan for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product / program / project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, requirements management, requirements derivation, review assembly & electrical drawings, familiarity of systems & software architecture as it applies to training systems, subcontractor management, report to internal customers and stakeholders, SOW and Spec review and compliance verification, manage schedules and prepare status reports, guide distributed teams, and lead team in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, risk & mitigation management, resolution and contingency planning.

Qualifications You Must Have :

Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study

Typically, 8+ years of progressive technical experience

Knowledge of engineering principles and practice

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team

Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, integration

Ability to travel up to 20%

Experience with training & simulator / simulation systems

Willingness to work on a small team performing complex engineering design evaluations for a diverse mission

An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required

Qualifications We Prefer :

Minimal of 3 years of design & integration experience in the environment of commercial or military aviation simulator training devices.

Ability to identify opportunities and use innovative approaches to accelerate / support of internal and external efforts with customers and technologies for solutions.

Experience in CAMEO or equivalent MBSE modeling platform

Experience in Jama or equivalent requirements management tool

Experience in Cyber Security and controls

Experience in EVMS processes

Typically 2-4 years of relevant leadership and / or project management experience

Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers

Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management

Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure

Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and / or Program Management Professional (PMP)

Experience or certification in INCOSE standard
