Overview :
The CFO provides financial and operational leadership, serving as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team. This role oversees finance, compliance, HR, IT, and organizational operations to ensure stability, growth, and alignment with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, audits, and cashflow management.
Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and metrics to leadership and the Board.
Maintain internal controls, manage risk, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Oversee investments, banking relationships, and vendor management.
Direct HR strategy, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and compliance.
Partner with leadership to develop succession planning, staff training, and organizational culture.
Oversee IT strategy, systems security, and technology vendor management.
Supervise and mentor finance and operations staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Support fundraising, investment, and change management initiatives as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (CPA or CMA preferred).
8+ years of senior management experience in nonprofit finance.
Expertise in GAAP, budgeting, financial systems, HR operations, and compliance.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with fund accounting software (MIP, Sage, etc.) preferred.
Highly organized, ethical, and detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
