Job Summary

The Part Time, Limited Term FAFSA Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct support to students completing FAFSA applications. This role is central to ensuring students understand and successfully navigate the financial aid application process. This position works closely with students in the FAFSA Completion Center, guiding them through each step of the process and resolving any issues that may arise.

Employment term is anticipated to last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Work in the FAFSA Completion Center (FCC) to provide direct assistance to students with completing their FAFSA applications, including answering questions and explaining the steps involved. Ensure students understand the documentation and verification requirements needed for FAFSA completion.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to FAFSA completion, such as errors or missing information.
• Guide students through the process of creating or updating their FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID) and other necessary steps.
• Answer student inquiries via email, or in-person, offering clear and accurate information about FAFSA requirements, deadlines, and the financial aid process.
• Provide detailed instructions on how to access and submit financial aid forms and documents.
• Assist students with reviewing and interpreting their FAFSA results, including Student Aid Index (SAI) and other key financial aid information.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and document assistance provided in the financial aid system.
• Assist the Financial Aid Leadership Team with the completion of special projects and initiatives.
