Manufacturing Engineer / Technician
Location : Elk Grove Village, IL
We are an established and growing manufacturing company located in Elk Grove Village seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / Technician to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving our wire processing, lead forming, and electronic packaging operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot / repair wire processing, lead trimming / forming, and electronic packaging equipment
- Drive and lead continuous improvement activities
- Develop, prepare, and maintain documentation related to manufacturing processes, system operations, product development, and other technical processes
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve production efficiency and product quality, focusing on :
Scrap reduction
Cycle time reductionDowntime reductionFirst Pass Yield (FPY) improvementOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) increaseWarranty PPM reductionCollect and analyze production line data to support decision-making and process improvementsSupport quality initiatives and collaborate with teams to develop methods that enhance product qualityDesign, implement, and maintain procedures that ensure efficient manufacturing practices for wire / cable assemblies and component servicesCreate and update documentation to accurately reflect product or process changesAssist with developing manufacturing workflows, line layouts, and floor plansQualifications / Skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionProficient in reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operating / service manualsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)Strong structured problem-solving and critical thinking skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyExperience running and maintaining computer-controlled electro-mechanical manufacturing equipmentAbility to manage multiple projects and shifting prioritiesProficiency in electronics manufacturing assembly processesExperience with ISO 9000 / 9001 standards and Quality Management SystemsEducation / Experience
Technical degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)1–5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environmentBenefits
