JOB DESCRIPTION
One of our automotive clients is looking for a Controls Engineer in Toledo, OH.
Duration : 12- months position (May go Longer)
Shift First Shift (07 : 00 AM to 03 : 00 PM Mon- Fri)
Job Responsibilities
- Development and improvement of processes along with developing the most productive / cost effective method of manufacture.
- Create detailed work instructions, operate and set up procedures.
- Utilize lean manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and maintain process sheets, PFMEAs and control plans.
- Develop and maintain IATF 16949 documentation and develop and improve manufacturing processes.
- APQP participation - includes attendance at key program meetings and participation in new product launch management.
- PPAP facilitation and application of statistical techniques.
- Assist with problem solving and quality concern resolution.
- Communicate with customers as necessary on problem resolution, customer performance rating improvement, etc.
- Evaluate pareto data and champion projects to reduce scrap
- Communicate with machine builders to optimize machine layout and strategy
- Assist in supplier development as required
- Assist with process improvements and data analysis
- Visit plants, customers and suppliers periodically on a variety of issues.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills :
BS in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.Four to six years experience in a manufacturing environment.Robotics and PLC knowledge is a plusThorough understanding IATF 16949 familiarities with DQLP / MBNQA criteria and industrial engineering principles.Experience with PFMEA, DOE and process improvements preferredExcellent mechanical aptitude.Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft OfficeSelf-directed individual with excellent organizational skills.Excellent attendance with no history of discipline.Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Good decision making and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently; self-motivated to manage through shift priorities and issues.
