Assistant Director, Educational Services

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) strives to increase the number of students who enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The project serves a cohort of students beginning the 7th grade and follows their successes through high school graduation. GEAR UP partners with schools, the district, local colleges, and universities to actively engage students, parents, teachers, faculty, and administrators to infuse a college-going culture for all students. Our services are designed to increase the number of students progressing onto higher education, be successful in the baccalaureate, and beyond.

Under the supervision of the Director of GEAR UP, the Assistant Director, Educational Services will provide leadership in the overall project management of GEAR UP. Such responsibilities include overseeing and facilitating coordination of events, implementation of workshops, editing and proofreading of content, working in collaboration with key stakeholders, and facilitating professional development opportunities to GEAR UP staff, partners, and school staff. In addition, the Assistant Director serves as a liaison to GEAR UP Partner Districts, CSUF departments, and the community. As such, the Assistant Director will develop and nurture strong partnerships with staff and administrators at school sites and with key stakeholders and partners. Based on program needs as determined by the GEAR UP Director, this position may be required to work out of various locations including the CSUF campus, GEAR UP target schools, or other locations.
