Position Summary
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the compliance and quality of aerospace components by leading root cause analyses, supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and driving continuous improvement in alignment with customer and regulatory standards.
Positioned in Quality Department, this role reports to the Quality Manager. The Senior Quality Engineer collaborates with employees at all levels throughout the organization as needed but does not supervise the work of others. This is a full-time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead timely and effective root cause investigations and corrective actions to reduce product losses, resolve customer complaints, and meet non-conformance reduction and cost targets.
- Provide input to optimize inspection methods and control cost; identify opportunities for savings through quality improvement and value engineering
- Assist in the identification and disposition of non-conformances; analyze new and recurring issues with a focus on those requiring customer MR review
- Participate in contract review and NPI process to identify customer requirements related to products and processes
- Generate product certification packets in accordance with customer and / or regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement activities that improve overall product and process quality
- Run daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports that identify both positive and negative quality trends for delivery to internal and external customers
- Participate in and lead daily quality clinics
- Develop Quality Alerts related to negative product and / or process quality trends
- Participate in Layered and Internal Audits
- Review of internal QMS procedures to determine if controlling documents meet current industry, customer, and / or regulatory requirements
- Provide support with external customer and agency audits
- Respond to audit findings resulting from external customer and agency audits
- Support Daily Production Meetings by providing an accurate reporting of MRB, Inspection, etc., activities
- Review production processes to confirm that the appropriate quality gates and inspection methods are implemented to confirm product compliance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education Required : A college degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalentExperience : A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND / OR PREFERRED

A working knowledge of ISO90001 and AS9100 standards with at least 10 years of experience.Proficiency in all core Quality Engineering functions, including inspection planning, documentation review, and root cause analysisAbility to provide QMS training to new and existing employeesExperience serving as a lead auditor in internal auditsAbility to review and approve MRB submittals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; guidance to MRB authors as needed.Must be able to perform all Quality Engineer job descriptions, which are listed in the Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesJob Details
