The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of both the shipping and receiving departments in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of custom-built signs and receipt of materials. This critical role involves managing a team, coordinating with production, quality control, and inventory management teams, and implementing best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy in both shipping and receiving operations. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor plays a key role in the overall success of the operation, ensuring smooth logistics for manufacturing, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and fostering collaboration across departments.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the shipping and receiving departments in a manufacturing environment, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring team performance.
• Ensure the accurate and timely shipment of custom-built signs and the efficient receipt and inspection of materials, meeting strict production deadlines and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with production, quality control, inventory management, and procurement teams to ensure seamless coordination, communication, and material flow across departments.
• Implement and enforce shipping and receiving procedures and best practices tailored to a manufacturing environment, continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce errors.
• Train, mentor, and develop staff in both shipping and receiving areas, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
• Monitor and maintain shipping and receiving equipment, ensuring that all tools and machinery are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts, including tracking information, shipping costs, receiving logs, and any issues or discrepancies, particularly related to custom orders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to shipping or receiving, working proactively to prevent future occurrences, particularly in the handling of unique or custom-built signs.
• Manage inventory levels for shipping and receiving supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available when needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and setting goals for team members to ensure continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and productive work environment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
