AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Intern to join our Indianapolis, IN office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Applies standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations which may include the following:
• Assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings. Carries out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Prepares assigned sections of reports working under the close review of a more experienced professional.
• Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
• May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).
• EDUCATION:No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• SPECIAL SKILLS:Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
