Are you a creative with a passion for design and purpose-driven work? We are seeking a talented and passionate Graphic Designer to join our Tampa YMCA Marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is detail-oriented and can bring the Y brand to life across print, digital and social platforms, while making a positive impact in our community.
Under the direction of the Senior Art Director and Senior Marketing Director, the Graphic Artist assists in producing visual materials for online and print marketing, advertisements, videos and communications along with website updates and maintenance as needed. The Graphic Artist helps to protect the Y brand by upholding established brand guidelines and follows all brand requirements. This position serves both the Tampa YMCA and the YMCA of the Suncoast.
Essential Functions
- Take initial project concepts and collaborate with team members to determine layout and design direction, presenting drafts for review and revising as needed to align with strategic objectives
- Develop graphic elements for various web, print and multimedia formats, including web pages, digital ads, email campaigns, all forms of collateral, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, signage, social media, etc.
- Work directly with location executive to determine strategy for events, determine the creative design and recommend advertising opportunities to reach event goal
- Support website maintenance and design as needed for both associations
- Actively participate in team meetings, creative strategy and ideation sessions
- Support marketing efforts in centers; i.e. attend events, take photographs, produce video, visit centers for marketing / membership / campaign support

Adhere to all Federal, State, and local safety regulations, as well as all YMCA policies and procedures related to the safety, health, and welfare of members, participants, guests, and staff.Ensure that all Tampa YMCA standards, leading practices, and policies are implemented and consistently followed, including those related to emergency procedures, child abuse prevention, and appropriate supervision.Adhere to policies and procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising participants and boundaries with participants when applicable.Ensure implementation of and follows all training requirements including risk management and child abuse prevention training in addition to ensuring proper reporting of all incidents / accidents according to risk management procedures.Maintain a safe and healthy environment at all times, including performing daily safety checks of program areas, equipment, and supplies.Maintain proper records, including certifications, meetings and trainings.Maintain an emphasis on safety in all areas of responsibility as they relate to members and staff.Front desk personnel-ensure member or association guest are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and respectful environment for members, guests, and staff.Promptly report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior, as well as policy violations, following established association procedures.Requirements
Education / Experience Required :
Bachelor degree preferredA minimum of two years experience preferred in graphic design, with knowledge of design principles, including layout, typography, color, balance, composition and current design trendsRequired experience in InDesign Photoshop, Illustrator on Mac platformPreferred experience in Creative Suite applications including After Effects, Animate and Premiere Pro are a plus, in additional to having knowledge with Canva, HTML / CSS, Drupal and Microsoft officeExcellent attention to detail, with accuracy and efficiencyHighly organized with the ability to manage and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentSelf starter who can manage a large workload while having a positive attitude in a team environmentWillingness to take on special projects as assignedCertifications / Trainings Required :
