The Agency You'll Join The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The Team You'll Work With The Mayor's Office Administrative Services Department is responsible for creating a dynamic workplace that assists with all aspects of employee development. The team works as a strategic partner to provide workforce and organizational capabilities that support the overall functionality of the agency. Providing strategic and operational functionalities, offering special programming and development opportunities, Administrative Services aims at helping all employees in all aspects of their career, creating a workplace where the staff are engaged, connected, and provided the resources to thrive. The Problems You'll Solve Reporting to the Chief & Deputy (CHRO) Chief Administrative Officers, the Associate Director of Strategic Projects will execute administrative projects, tasks, and procedures. Working across the administrative services landscape, the Associate Director will work to organize the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude projects undertaken by the Administrative Services Unit to improve processes and efficiencies. This individual will largely work at the direction of the Deputy Chief (CHRO) to help support the day-to-day administrative needs and projects. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
About You
You have excellent time-management, multi-tasking, organizational, communication, research, analytical, writing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, work independently and within a team environment, pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, do appropriate follow-up, work well under pressure, and maintain an enthusiastic work ethic. This includes maintaining a positive and helpful attitude, while also understanding his / her own contribution to the team. You have strong follow-through for problem resolution without reminders from others. This includes the ability to communicate those results to interested parties and is attentive to details.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Government, Public Administration, Public Policy or Business Administration or related field; or a Master's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
