ABOUT THE ROLE

Support and maintain the plant safety program through day-to-day safety contacts with employees and department safety meetings, ensure assigned work areas are safe and safety requirements are observed.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
• Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
• Operation of mobile equipment required to mine rock (For example : Rock drills, wheel loaders, bulldozer, haul trucks and water trucks, motor grader, fuel tanker, hydraulic rock breaker)
• Perform mechanical maintenance checkouts, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and do minor preventative maintenance on mobile equipment
• Monitor and react to quality issues (For example : sample drill holes, monitor quality feedback information & adjust mining pattern as necessary)
• Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education : High School diploma / GED Required Experience

Required Work Experience : 1 year of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment

Required Technical Skills : Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements : Local travel throughout n / a.
