Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred 5+ years of experience as a mechanic / machinist in manufacturing (pharmaceutical or biotech preferred) Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics Strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills Able to work both independently and in a team setting Flexibility to work extended or off-hours when needed Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable standing, walking, and working in various positions for long periods Must be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment
- Work with low, medium, and high-pressure steam systems
- Rebuild and replace motors, pumps, and related components
- Maintain and service compressed air and vacuum pump systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Conduct inspections and document findings accurately
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance
- Participate in equipment installation, modification, and upgrade projects
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and GMP requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed
