Job Title : Senior Residential Mortgage Loan Underwriter
Location : Buffalo, NY (one day a week -work from home)
Salary : $90-95K plus bonus and excellent benefits. Our client is seeking an experienced Residential Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing team in Buffalo, NY.
This role will focus on reviewing and re-underwriting previously closed mortgage loans to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of recent underwriting experience and a strong understanding of residential mortgage products, including Conventional, Non-Conventional, QM and Non-QM, Jumbo, DSCR, FHA / VA, and Business Purpose loans. Key Responsibilities :
- Re-underwrite mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with guidelines and secondary market requirements
- Analyze income, credit, and property documentation
- Perform due diligence on representation and warranty reviews
- Review and evaluate collateral, title reports, and fraud detection results
- Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and underwriting standards
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry, with at least 3 years specifically in underwritingStrong knowledge of underwriting, compliance, and regulatory requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting tools (e.g., DU, LPA)Detail-oriented with excellent communication skillsAbility to work independently and under pressureThe ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, open-minded powerhouse who brings innovative ideas to the table.
