The Mental Health Department of James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to join our team in Tampa, FL.
The VA Tampa Healthcare System is recruiting Physician-Psychiatrists to care for our Veterans. We seek individuals with broad experience in all aspects of Primary Care. The Psychiatrist will provide direct patient care to our Veteran population. Responsibilities include :
- Management, psychotherapy, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall psychiatric care.
- Conduct patient care via face-to-face and telehealth methods, including video and phone consultations, and complete suicide prevention training and screening.
- Ensure psychiatric practices comply with relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines, and maintain proper medical documentation.
- Perform psychiatric examinations, psychopharmacologic evaluations, coordinate care with other providers, and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to system redesign, performance measures, and safety initiatives.
- Coordinate preventive healthcare based on VA guidelines and psychiatric best practices.
- Practice across various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments, covering a range of mental health diagnoses.
- Maintain active knowledge of VA processes and utilize electronic medical records effectively.
- Arrange coverage during absences, assist with staffing, and supervise physician staff including professional development and recruitment.
- Exercise independent judgment in clinical care, operating largely independently with oversight as needed.
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM, with flexibility based on facility needs.
Salary Range : $287,000 - $350,000 per year
