About the Role
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will utilize radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Your knowledge in human anatomy, patient care, and radiation safety will assist in producing quality images in compliance with ARRT and CNMT standards. You will work following regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Your Responsibilities Include :
Conducting Nuclear Medicine exams per established medical imaging protocols.Administering prescribed radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to state and federal regulations.Upholding safety measures for radioactive materials for yourself and others.Communicating procedure details to patients prior to exams.Operating imaging equipment like Spect Cameras and PACS proficiently.Maintaining department functionality through quality control checks.Documenting details about radioactive materials appropriately.Performing regular surveys and documenting findings in work areas.Adhering to policies on infection control and radiation safety.Qualifications :
Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.One year of experience as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.Certification required by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board, or ARRT.Basic Cardiac Life Support certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 368-bed facility offering various specialty and sub-specialty services.
