Additional Details

Oversee the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration

Supervise the EM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution

Represent the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

Level IV Trauma Designation

8-10 hour physician shifts (depending on volume trends) with APP support

BC / BP in emergency medicine preferred

Cerner FirstNet Documentation

Dedicated ED administrative assistants to manage all admission, consult and transfer calls

NPs and PAs practice independently in the ED (Physicians don't sign APP charts unless consulted to coordinate care)

Layout of department allows for immediate conversion of different spaces to become negative-pressure areas as needed

Excellent specialty coverage (neurosurgery, neuro-interventional specialty, trauma, OB, pediatrics) is available across the five hospitals in San Antonio's Baptist Health System and six hospitals with Resolute
