Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Finance team in our Broussard, LA (USA) office. This role is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, performing complex reconciliations, and overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
In addition, this position will contribute to process improvements, support external audits, and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is both technically proficient and a strong communicator, capable of translating complex financial data into meaningful insights for leadership.
Responsibilities
- Daily Transaction Management : responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all day-to-day financial transactions
- Financial Reporting & Analysis : Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
- Month-End & Year-End Close : Manage the full close process, including adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Internal Controls : Evaluate and enhance financial controls to safeguard accuracy and prevent errors.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in annual budget creation and financial forecasts, analyzing trends to support strategic planning.
- Audit Support : Prepare documentation, schedules, and serve as a point of contact for external auditors.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting operations and financial technologies.
- Mentorship & Collaboration : Lead and collaborate across departments while effectively communicating financial information to management and cross-functional teams
- Other Responsibilities : Perform other duties as required to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).Several years of progressive accounting experience (e.g., Staff Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or similar).Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, close processes, and reconciliations.Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting / tax regulations.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across departments.Benefits
