ROLE OVERVIEW

Pivot Energy, an ESG-focused IPP for distributed renewable energy, is looking for a highly organized and motivated Analyst, Financial Asset Management, to support the financial reporting and risk management of our solar energy portfolio. This position will play a vital role in supporting the financial and risk operations of Pivot Energy's portfolio of assets across the U.S. This new role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in renewable energy.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Asset Management, the Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are performing, contractual obligations are met, and financial and administrative processes are executed with precision. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills are crucial, as the successful candidate will coordinate closely with the Legal, O&M, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Accounting teams.

The candidate may be based remotely in the U.S., with periodic travel to our Denver home office and other company locations or for industry conferences; however, preference will be given to candidates based in or around Denver, with the expectation of working from the office on a weekly basis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports for internal stakeholders, investors, and lenders.
  • Track and compile regular reports on project-level revenues such as power purchase agreement (PPA) payments, renewable energy certificate sales, and performance-based incentives, extracting information from financial models to compare actuals.
  • Maintain financial trackers to monitor asset-level cash flow, operations, and maintenance costs, and performance against plan.
  • Financial and Administrative Tasks
  • Reconcile invoices, renewable energy certificate payments, and expense items against budgets and contracts, flag inconsistencies or missing data.
  • Support the month-end reporting process by consolidating and organizing financial data
  • Ensure compliance with project agreements (PPAs, debt covenants, insurance, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data for audits and internal controls.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting Support
  • Assist in compiling historical and current data to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Track budget-to-actual performance and help prepare variance analysis and explanatory notes.
  • Aggregate data across technical and financial systems to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting key performance indicators and compliance metrics.
  • Invoice & Payment Management
  • Process and track incoming invoices for insurance and other project-related costs.
  • Coordinate with internal finance and accounting teams to ensure timely coding, approval, and payment processing.
  • Maintain organized records of vendor agreements, payment schedules, and service periods.
  • Develop revenue and management service expense project tracking files.
  • Insurance & Surety Bond Administration
  • Maintain a centralized documentation system for all insurance policies across the asset portfolio.
  • Coordinate with brokers and outside consultants to request certificates of insurance and obtain quotes or policy updates, or generate insurance reports for all financings.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements as outlined in project financing agreements, power purchase agreements, and interconnection contracts.
  • Support the management of ongoing maintenance of insurance policies, including solar put and tax credit policies.
  • Track and manage active surety bonds related to project development or performance obligations; ensure timely renewals or cancellations.
  • Collaborate with Legal and project teams to ensure all bonding and insurance documentation aligns with contractual and regulatory obligations.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a similar quantitative field.
  • 1+ years of experience in an analytical role within the asset management, construction, finance, infrastructure, renewable energy, or utilities sectors.

  • PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

  • Previous work experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or finance.
  • Exposure to energy performance monitoring, financial analysis, or administrative contract management.
  • Familiarity with insurance, risk management, or legal documentation tracking.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Procore, Salesforce, Sitetracker, or solar monitoring tools (e.g., SCADA, DAS, Also Energy).

We evaluate every internal decision on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors to determine if our actions will result in a net positive impact on the community, our employees, customers, shareholders, and the environment.
